In 2018, we installed an automatic parking system for the Absolutum Boutique Hotel in Prague.
The customer required the car park to be closed off using barriers, because the hotel car park in the vicinity of the underground was frequently used as a layby by commuting drivers. At the same time, however, the system was not supposed to bother the hotel guests and moreover it had to enable free departure for the customers of the hotel restaurant and wellness service.
The entire parking system is equipped with cameras to read vehicle number plates and with IP communicators. With the help of the data station and the Watchtower control software, the hotel reception can enter the number plate of an accommodated guest’s vehicle and the duration of the validity in advance. As such, the barrier automatically opens for the guest upon arrival (after recognising the vehicle’s number plate) and the guest can then comfortably use the car park throughout the period of his or her entire stay. A great advantage of this solution lies in the fact that the hotel reception does not have to issue parking cards, collect any instalments for them or deal with any card losses or abuse.
At the same time, the programmers also modified the control software so that the restaurant and wellness service staff are also authorised to enter time-limited free entry for their paying customers. They use the communicator upon arrival and the barrier then opens automatically upon their departure, having recognised the vehicle’s number plate. The entire parking system is also backed up onto a cloud server. The users are divided into several categories according to the number of rights, a complete history of all the events in the car park is provided and this also enables remote access, monitoring and contríol of the entire system, including from a tablet or mobile telephone.
The result is a clever automated car park which does not encumber the hotel guests or any other customers, while only permitting entry to those who are entitled to it.
